BSW is a privately-owned company which has been providing installation and maintenance of heating systems for nearly 50 years. In the 1970s it became an approved British Gas Installer and started to offer its services to the social housing sector. The company now offers commercial heating installation and maintenance as well as programmes of refurbishment works to the social housing sector.
BSW approached Handmade Marketing in to help beef-up the quality of its submissions for publicly-tendered contracts.
We initially helped the company to be shortlisted for a Contract of Kitchen, Bathroom & Electrical Upgrades for Guildford Borough Council – with BSW ultimately just missing out to a major nationwide contractor at ITT stage. Since then our bid management experts have worked on 13 bids. On several we have managed the entire pre-qualification process including completing and submitting the PQQ for BSW’s Procurement team.
We have worked closely with various people at BSW to gather the information to prepare comprehensive content about the company’s management systems and structure, profiles of its management team, service delivery, approach and methodology for gathering performance data and KPIs as well as several case studies of works in the commercial and housing sectors. We also researched and prepared a slideshow presentation that was delivered to buyers at the Anchor Trust Housing Group and have even provided coaching in interview techniques to their bid teams.
Our work contributed to BSW winning a place on a major framework contract for Maintenance, Servicing, Repair and Installation of Commercial Heating Systems for the Northern Housing Group in 2012 as well as a 5-year contract to provide domestic heating maintenance for Adur District Council valued at £600k per annum.
